About the role
·
Experience
working as a cook or in a food preparation role (ideally within a nursery,
school, or care setting).
·
Knowledge
and understanding of food allergies, intolerances, and special dietary
requirements.
·
Good
understanding of food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations.
·
Ability
to work independently and manage time effectively.
·
Good
organisational skills and attention to detail.
·
Warm,
caring, and positive attitude with a genuine interest in children’s health and
wellbeing.
·
Commitment
to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
What we're looking for
Must have Food
Hygiene Certificate (Level 2 or above). Uphold the nursery’s safeguarding policies in line with OFSTED guidance.
· Report concerns promptly to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).
· An Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is an essential requirement for this role.
· Knowledge of safeguarding legislation (e.g., Working Together to Safeguard Children).
· Awareness of confidentiality, information sharing and data protection in safeguarding contexts.
